My first interview and I am so excited 'cause I just loved this book!

K: Please tell us a little bit about yourself?

E: Hi everyone. I’m Eden Summers, an Australian author who lives in regional NSW with my two young boys and a husband that keeps me on my toes.

K: How did you make the leap from romance reader to romance writer?

E: It’s weird, I suppose. I’ve never really found “my place” in the world. I’m interested in absolutely every career, yet I couldn’t find something that was me. It wasn’t until I started reading romance, reviewing, blogging, promoting authors etc that I found a place that I really enjoyed. I’ve always had a thousand stories in my head. I just never thought to put them to paper. It wasn’t until I realized I wanted to give it a try, that all the things in my life fell into place. I feel at home within the writing community. I love what I do and I’m constantly challenged, which is a big factor I need in my life.

The first story I submitted (Concealed Desire) was picked up straight away, which I took as a sign. And I haven’t looked back.

K: I had the opportunity to read your newest release, Blind Attraction (*check out my review here), tell us how the idea for it came about?

E: A lot of my ideas come from music and Blind Attraction is definitely one of them. I’ve also always been in love with rock star romance. The first story I started to write (which still isn’t finished) was a rock star romance. But Alana and Mitchell’s story came from a lot of lyrics from a lot of different songs…all from the one band.

K: While reading Blind Attraction, it brought back memories of my younger days as a fangirl of a certain (now well-known but then just starting out) band and the friendships I made with the band, is Reckless Beat based on an actual band?

E: Kinda, sorta, yeah. The music and lyrics I referred to in the last answer were all from Daughtry’s music. I adore their songs. Absolutely love their music. Their harder rocking songs (like Renegade and Outta My Head) remind me of what Reckless Beat plays. Then the softer, more emotional songs (like Start Of Something Good and Tennessee Line) tell the story of my rockers and the women that stole their hearts.

K: When I read, I get a picture in my head of certain characters. I noticed you had a Pintrest board for Blind Attraction (*Check it out here) and I have say we are definitely on the same page with each other. (especially Blake-Yummy!) Have you done this for your other books?

Concealed Desire, Sneaking a Peek, & Halloween Heat V

E: I actually didn’t discover Pinterest until recently, I mean the last 8 months or so. With Phantom Pleasure from Halloween Heat V, it was an extremely quick story. I don’t think I even picked people to base my characters on and in the beginning Phantom Pleasure had three men, not just two J. It was changed at the last minute.

The same was for Sneaking a Peek. I wrote it, had it looked over by critique partners and submitted it within ten days. It was a quick turnover for that one and I didn’t base it on actual people.

And because Concealed Desire was the first story I ever finished, I hadn’t known about Pinterest at all…but because you are special, I went and made up a quick one for you. You can see it here.

K: This will be a series of books, could you give us a hint as to who we could expect to see next?

E: Ahhh‼ I’ve been asked that question so many times and at the moment I’m keeping my lips sealed. However, I will tell you that the second book will be a lot more emotional. The next rocker in the series has a lot of skeletons in his closet and struggles to keep them behind closed doors.
