With her past, Emma Castille doesn’t claim to be psychic. She just notices things other people don’t. Like the fear in a runaway’s eyes-or the pain in an ex-FBI agent’s heart. Her chemistry with Dean is blistering, but Emma follows her passion . . . not someone else’s orders.

Then a madman breaks into Emma’s home and leaves a twisted message: “You’re next.” Now Dean refuses to let her out of his sight until he pries every last secret from her full, sexy lips. And suddenly Emma’s aching to give him everything he wants.

Review:

Once again, Cynthia Eden takes us on one wild ride through the streets of New Orleans with her latest release - Twisted!

The second book in the Lost Series, Twisted is an action-packed tale full of mystery & murder. While looking for a missing teen, Dean comes in contact with Emma, who may or may not be what she seems. Right away the sparks fly between these two and Dean is reluctant to follow through with the intense feelings he has when around Emma. Emma is always cautious about who she gets involved with, she doesn't want her secrets out in the open.

The interaction between Dean & Emma heat up the pages as they work together to figure out who is killing off those who wouldn't be missed.

An absolutely fantastic read!

Excerpt
“You’re not psychic.”
Were they back to that?
She put her hands in her lap. Emma didn’t believe in making nervous gestures. She didn’t believe in giving away anything at all with her body language.
“What you are …” Ah, now he did smile. Her father would have called it a shit-eating grin. The more PC term was probably a Cheshire cat smile. Whatever the name, that smile annoyed her. “What you are, Ms. Castille … is a criminal. A fraud.”
Maybe she should grab her chest and dramatically gasp. She didn’t. “Wonderful for you,” Emma said. “You pulled up a background report one me.” She let her eyes widen a bit. “It’s amazing just what one can find if a person knows how to use a search engine.”
A furrow appeared between his eyes.
“How about I say what … you are?” Emma asked him. “A washed-up FBI agent who snapped on the job. You held your control tight every single day, but the bad guys—they just didn’t stop, did they? You hunted them, you stopped them, and more appeared. While you were fighting the system, they kept coming, and the bodies kept piling up onyour watch.”
He shot right back to his feet. The folding chair slammed down behind him.
“You and your father bilked desperate people,” he accused. “You told them you were psychic, that you could help find their missing children. And you—”
“We found them.” Two girls who’d vanished. They’d found them. “We just didn’t get to them in time.” And she would not go back to that place.
She motioned toward Manuel. He knew the signal meant he could take over her booth. There was no way, no way, that she was going to stay there with that prick while he slammed the most painful moments from her past in Emma’s face.
Manuel, pale, tattooed, with piercings in his lips and eyebrows, quickly claimed her spot.
Emma jumped to her feet. Muttered her thanks, and fled right past the guy she was starting to think of as Agent Jackass.
She pushed through the crowd. Wasn’t there always a crowd in Jackson Square? And that was why she loved the place. It was so easy to vanish in a crowd. To be anyone.
The crowd closed around her.
To be no one at all.
She hurried around the back of the cathedral. She knew the streets so well. Her home was close by. Emma would get inside and forget Agent Jackass.
I’m being followed.
Emma stilled at the intersection. A horse-drawn carriage rolled by her. Voices called out.
And he touched her.
Emma didn’t flinch. Didn’t scream. She looked down at the hand on her shoulder. “When a woman runs away from you, that means you need to stay the hell away from her.”
His hold tightened on her. “You and I aren’t done.”
She looked up at his face. Had she really thought the man was handsome? Annoying, that was all Dean Bannon was.
“I need to find that girl, and you’re the only lead I have so far.”

“Then you’re not a very good investigator.”

Rafe, Inked Brotherhood Book #5 by Jo Raven - Q&A with Jo Raven & Review

Rafe
Inked Brotherhood
Book #5
by Jo Raven

His name is Rafaele Vestri, Rafe to his friends.

He’s tall, strong, handsome. Distant. He often comes to the coffee shop where I work, but we don’t talk much. He looks at me, though. Stares at me, his gaze heated, and I can’t help but stare back. I want him, I won’t deny it. I’ve never seen anyone that beautiful, anyone that powerful, in my life.

But he’s growing more withdrawn by the day. Something’s up, and he won’t tell. I know about his past—the murder of his family when he was fifteen. I can imagine how much it must have cost him. So much violence contained in that strong body, waiting to be unleashed. What is he seeking? What is he training so hard for? Why is he looking at me like he’s dying to touch me, but won’t dare?
Even as I try to stop thinking about him, get interested in other boys, I realize I can’t. I’m caught, body and soul, just like that. And I tell myself, Megan, girl… What have you gotten yourself into this time?

Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.

*Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.*

Q&A with Jo Raven

Please tell us a little about yourself….

I am crazy – crazy about sexy boys, cats and spicy food. I also love spicy scenes and sexy food. I love what’s different and dramatic and painful but also beautiful. I am a writer of romance, so I guess I have to be that way, or I’d be writing biographies of dead poets, wouldn’t I? I’d love to travel to Japan one day, so if you have any free tickets, please send them my way!

How/when did you decide to write?

This is one of those trick questions, isn’t it? Confess!! Lol. I will be specific: I decided to start publishing my romance a year ago. But I have been writing all my life.

What is one thing about you that your readers would find surprising or never guess about you?

Let me see… Maybe the fact I am not married to a tattooed dude, and don’t have many tats myself. I have one tiny tat – then again I am planning on getting more, so… Oh and I make my own book covers!

Tell us a little about your latest book/release/WIP?

My latest tattooed boy is RAFE – book five in the Inked Brotherhood series. The series consists of stand-alone novels (they can be read independently, although reading them in order is better!)
Rafe has a lot of demons. His family was murdered in front of his eyes when he was fifteen and he has been hiding his sorrow since then – but can’t win. When he sees his family’s murderer on the street, he knows he has to protect the girl he loves by pushing her away and do everything in his power – including giving up his life – to make the culprit pay.

What’s one thing that you enjoy most about writing? Least?

I love creating the characters in my head, brainstorming the plot, doing weird research on the internet to find out information. I love finding pictures to inspire me and talking to friends about it.
I don’t like revising and editing and proofreading… I know it’s necessary, and I don’t hate it, but it’s not my favorite part of the process.

·       .  Who is one of your favorite authors that you enjoy reading?

I have so many… I really love Colleen Hoover and Tammara Webber. I also love JA Huss, Jay Crownover and so many others…

Review:

Rafe is book #5 in the series but, it can be read as a stand-alone. This is the only book in the series I have read and it was fabulous.

Rafe is such a dark character with so much tragedy in his life it made me wonder if he could actually have an HEA. He doesn't allow many people to get too close. Megan has a dark past too and together they can help each other through anything, if they each allow the other in. These characters both have a lot to deal with through out the entire book.

From darkness to light through love, this book was extremely well written and all the characters had such depth to their personalities, it was like watching a movie in my head.I urge you to check out Rafe and all the other books in the Inked Brotherhood series.
I know I am going to go back and read them all.

A Perfect Ten: Forbidden Men #5 by Linda Kage - Q&A with Linda, Review, and Giveaway!

A Perfect Ten
Forbidden Men # 5
By: Linda Kage
Releasing March 30th, 2015
Self-Published

Blurb:

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

I know I've closed myself off in a major way in the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up completely. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye.

Excerpt:

She was Noel Gamble’s one and only sister; I could not fuck her. No matter what.
Ergo, I needed to take drastic measures to keep her at arm’s length. I needed to...okay, fine. Fuck. I just needed to be me. Not really so drastic once you think about it, even though it probably seemed that way to her.

So I let her have the full intensity of Ten. I stopped watching what I said when she was around, and I let all my base, disgusting thoughts bleed out of my mouth like I usually did. I stopped smiling at her, stopped paying her special attention with little courteous things like holding doors open for her or asking her how her day went. I completely stopped being a nice guy. I backed off and pretty much ignored her, unless I could think up something crude to say in her direction. I made sure to chase other women when she was around. And I felt like shit every night I lay in bed, unable to get to sleep, because I’d relive every awful thing I’d done to her that day.

No matter how deeply my actions ate at me, though, it didn't stop me from making her hate me and killing any soft feelings she’d ever had for me. It should’ve been easy to accomplish. Everyone who knows me knows how fast I can piss off a woman. But nothing about Caroline has ever been easy.

That’s the curious thing about temptation. It festers and grows. You feed that bitch enough and she morphs into craving, and then craving turns into obsession. Pretty soon, nothing in your life is as important as that one thing you want but can’t have.

I wanted her and I couldn't have her, so I fed the temptation, I flooded the craving, I would've fucking nursed the obsession from my own tits if I could’ve. I made sure I got little doses of her here and there. Except something incredibly enlightening happens when you spend enough time in one woman’s company. You start noticing shit about her, little useless shit that actually begins to mean everything, like how she brushes the hair out her face—even if there isn't any in her eyes—whenever she’s unsettled, or how she chews on the end of a pen during class whenever she’s listening to something that captivates her attention. You learn all her different laughs and know what each one means. You learn what pisses her off the most, or what makes her the happiest. You discover how smart and witty and sarcastic she is, and that her mind is almost as dirty as yours. You see how passionate she becomes when she defends those she loves, and you start to fall. Hard.

So, this is my Pathetic Loser’s confession: I am Oren Tenning and I have fallen. Hard.

 Q&A
with Linda Kage

Please tell us a little about yourself….
Hi!  I’m Linda.  I’m a wife, mom, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, and all those good things!  I work at a university library during the day (Go Gorillas!!) and watch my kiddo at night.  Oh, and when no one’s looking, I try to write stories…but it seems like someone’s always looking, so…oh, well, I keep writing anyway! J I love books (shocking, huh?), movies, super hero shows like Arrow, Flash, iZombie, and Teen Wolf, and taking walks, along with hanging out with the family.  Oh!  And eating.  Eating is good.  And that’s about all there is to me!

How/when did you decide to write?
I decided I liked to write in the first grade when my teacher was overly nice, complimenting a ridiculous poem I wrote. It took me around twenty-five years, about sixteen full-lengths manuscripts, and tons of unfinished crap for a publisher to finally say, “Okay we’ll give your story a shot!”

What is one thing about you that your readers would find surprising or never guess about you?
I’m incredibly awkward and socially clueless!  I know, I come across as such a wonderful social butterfly online, don’t I?!  (Or not!)

Tell us a little about your latest book/release/WIP?
A Perfect Ten is book 5 in the Forbidden Men series but it can be read as a standalone. The main guy, Ten, and main girl, Caroline, were both introduced in book 2 of the series, and I've had a blast watching both of their personalities grow and mature throughout the last couple of books.

What’s one thing that you enjoy most about writing? Least?
I love finishing a book the most.  That high of completing a project I've been working on for months, that I've been obsessing about for most every minute of every day, that’s finally out of my head and on a computer for others to read is just…indescribable.

·         Who is one of your favorite authors that you enjoy reading?
Dr. Seuss!

Quickie Questions

·         Milk or Dark chocolate? MILK

·         Coffee or tea? TEA

·         Leather or lace? LEATHER

·         Hard & Fast or Long & Slow? QUICK & PAINLESS (Wait, what’re we talking about?!)

·         Favorite junk food? POTATO CHIPS W/ DIP!

·         One thing (object, not people) you can’t live without? iPAD

·         One unusual item in/on/around your workspace? RUBBER DUCKIE COLLECTION

·         Favorite  adult beverage? STRAWBERRY DACQUIRI

My Review:

Although this is the 5th book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone book. (Please take a moment to check out the rest of the series)

It's fun to read about such a "player", who turns it all around for the right girl. Oren is definitely that player and it turns out that his best fried's little sister, Caroline, is the right girl.  Oren is also a potty-mouthed, bad-boy who loves hard-yum, my kind of guy! Caroline is a girl who knows what/who she wants and doesn't let anything/anyone get in her way while trying to obtain it, including her over-protective brother.

The sparks fly in this book, I found this story to be quite a ride.
