Valentine's Day is coming, you walk into any store and find candy, flowers, cards & stuffed animals. Not really my idea of showing love. Not the kind of gifts I personally want to get from my guy.
After 25 years together, 18 years of marriage, 4 kids, our jobs, and everyday life, I want something different! I just want to spend an evening together. I want an evening of adult conversation, I want an evening of no whining & complaining, I want an evening with no talk of work, kids, bills, or any other kind of everyday drama.
This is what I told my guy a few weeks ago. Taking my request to heart, he has arranged for the kids to stay overnight at various households, made dinner reservations at a fabulous steak house, invited another couple to join us for the evening (dinner & drinks only-get your mind out of the gutter) So in return, I went shopping. I was inspired by a paragraph in a book I read recently. I purchased a very sexy outfit (for after dinner) and a few toys to try out too. This is my ideal Valentine's Day celebration!
My question to you....What is your ideal way to celebrate Valentine's Day? Are you expecting a night out/a night in? A specific gift? What are you doing in return for your significant other? If no significant other is available-then what is your dream celebration?

My birthday was last week (Super Bowl Sunday) so I got to share it with a football game! I do enjoy football but would have liked to have done more than supply food all day for the game ;)Thats why I need my night out!

I'm hanging out and spending quality time with either my best friend or my sister and I'm excited about it! I'm an intimate quality time girl, doesn't matter if it's a quiet night in or a fun night out adventuring, it's all good.

Depending on the ALL-IMPORTANT weather for Friday either we're going to go for dinner to one of our favorite restaurants. Come home exchange our V-Day cards loaded with Lottery scratch tickets, cuddle while watching a movie on cable as we drink a class of wine, and then___________. If the weather is ROTTEN, I'll cook a meal instead. GUESS which one I'll would rather do.
ReplyDeleteBTW - If you're shipping only printed material. Use the Post Office and sent it 4th Class - Printed material - the cost is A LOT CHEAPER - but it takes a few more days to get where its going.
I would love dinner out with adult conversation with the cell phone left at home. Thanks. rameyer.nmb@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWe make cards for each other. He always leaves a flower with the card.
ReplyDeletelaurellasky@yahoo.com
I don't have a significant other but if I did I would probably want my other to leave little surprise gifts, leading to dinner in, possibly a movie or walk or something and a cuddle.

Sometimes just staying in with hubby, a glass of wine, a steak dinner and roaring fire is all that I need. I know I don't qualify for prizes as I am non-US, but I enjoyed your blog.

My husband travels, so time with him is always desired. But, it's our anniversary, (28 years together, 27 years married) and we like to spend the evening with the kids as well. It won't be long until they are all gone. (2 in college and 1 in high school)
