An Ultimate Novel
by Lori Foster
She's playing hard to get…to win the MMA fighter of her ultimate fantasies.
Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she's not above playing a little dirty. She's wanted Stack "The Wolf" Hannigan from day one. Seems as though the best way to corral the famously commitment-phobic fighter is to insist on keeping it casual. And her plan works—deliciously well—until Stack's past steps out of the shadows.
Stack learned early to stay free of attachments. But with sexy, forthright Vanity, he's the one always left wanting more. Then his troublemaking family comes back into the picture, threatening everything Stack cares about—Vanity included. Suddenly he realizes they're much more than friends with benefits. He's ready to go to the mat for her…but will it be in time to protect the woman who's tamed him for good?
For those of you who are fans of Lori Foster's Ultimate series, you know that Vanity & Stack have been dancing around each other for awhile now. We have seen peeks of this "dance" through out the series. At the end of book #2, Holding Strong, Vanity decides the only way to get what/who she wants is to be a bit devious. So she propositions Stack to be her date for Cannon & Yvette's wedding~with the promise of ending the date in bed together, hoping this will lead to a longer relationship, but understanding that if it doesn't work out at least she got her one night with Stack.
Vanity & Stack finally do get to "finish" their date...and then some! Damn! They are so hot together! Which of course leads to the conflict of Vanity's lie to Stack about how she has really felt about him all along and her manipulation of their relationship, with a death threat to Stack thrown in for good measure...lots going on in this story.
Book #3 in the Ultimate series, Tough Love, was freaking fantastic! I enjoyed every minute of it and look forward (like I know you all do) to Armie & Rissy's story, Fighting Dirty!
