The Fun of Erotic Romance
by Anne Lange
Don’t get me wrong, there are
still boundaries that authors respect, and I have my own personal lines that
I’m not willing to cross. Areas I’m
either not knowledgeable enough to discuss or not comfortable with to write
about—at least net yet. But I have to
say, I love the freedom to explore my own sexuality and fantasies through
words, and through my fictional worlds. After
all, it’s much easier (and safer) to express something on paper than it is to
verbalize it or act on it.
Most of my family, many of my
friends and even some of my colleagues know I write. Most of those same people
even know what I write. Initially,
I’ll admit I was a little embarrassed. But now I just giggle when I get the “Oh my god. Really? You write that? That’s soooo cool. Have you done those things? How exactly do you
do your research? Your husband must love
you!” And of course, I’ve had a few
offers of assistance for research purposes LOL. J
I say yup and thank you to the
first few questions, and I tactfully avoid or decline to comment on the
remainder. Leave them guessing – that’s
half the fun. It’s normally us shy ones
that leave them stunned and wondering as we strut down the hall following that
particular conversation. I’ve even had a
few women tell me they’ve speed dialed their husbands to get their ass home
ASAP after reading a particularly good scene or story. IMHO I think many
husbands can thank their wife’s increased libido on erotic romance. At the
very least, it’s enhanced it. I’m not saying there’s a sudden increase in
BDSM. There could be, I don’t know. But
speaking from personal experience, as well as research (ok, my own market
study) if the hubby or boyfriend or girlfriend walks in the door or climbs into
bed after their partner has just been involved in fictional foreplay – let’s
just say they now can hop, skip and jump straight to the main act.
I like erotic romance because
it’s HOT. It’s the stuff of fantasies. Why take a reader up to the bedroom door
only to slam it in their face? Me? I want to know what goes on behind the door.
I guess that’s the voyeur in me. Why not
get lost in being naughty for a while? So
tell me, why do you like erotic romance?
Author Bio:
While embarking on this wild
journey of becoming a romance author, Anne juggles a full time job and a
family. Not always successfully. Who needs a clean house every day? And what’s wrong with cereal for dinner? She
grew up in Southern Ontario (Canada), but now makes her home in Eastern Ontario
where she lives with her wonderfully supportive husband, three normally awesome
kids, and Rocky the bearded dragon.

Review:
The Sin Circus sure ain't your Momma's circus, or the one you went to when you were a kiddo! The Sin Circus is definitely for grown ups only!
This compilation book of short erotic circus tales was absolutely hot, steamy, and a whole lotta fun to read! Although many authors contributed to the book, I found the writing so cohesive that you would think it was written by just one person. The base storyline throughout the book was kept intact as you read along. I have read a few compilation books where this doesn't happen. So it was very nice to see it here.
Individually, the stories were all fantastic!
