• Please tell
us a little about yourself….
Thanks so much for hosting me today. I write romantic
suspense for Avon Books and Harlequin Intrigue and am thrilled to celebrate the
release of my ninth novel, “Take the Key and Lock Her Up.” I was born in
Kentucky but have lived most of my life in northeast Florida where I currently
reside with my hubby, two kids, and a Shetland sheepdog named Sparky. Although I write romantic suspense, most of
the time I prefer to read historical and paranormal romance.
• What is one
thing about you that your readers would find surprising or never guess about
you?
Even though my stories are full of danger and suspense, in
real life, I’m a fraidy-cat. Scary movies? No thanks. Roller coasters? No way. And
even though I live in Florida, twenty minutes from the ocean, I do NOT go in
the water. Ever. JAWS. Enough said.
• Tell us a
little about your latest book/release/WIP?
“Take the Key and Lock Her Up” is the fourth book in my
Deadly Games Thrillers series. The first book was set in Florida and introduced
a Buchanan brother as a secondary character. The rest of the books, including
this one, each feature one of the Buchanans and is set in Savannah, Georgia.
The family is close-knit and several family members have law-enforcement
occupations. The earlier books focus on catching serial killers. But this story
is quite different and focuses on Devlin’s secret occupation as an assassin for
a company called EXIT Incorporated. When a powerful enemy targets Devlin, and
his family, the one person who can help him is the one person who can utterly
destroy him…a policewoman.
• What’s one
thing that you enjoy most about writing? Least?
My favorite part of writing is doing revisions. I love this
the most because by the time I’m ready to revise I’ve figured out the plot and
also gotten to know my characters enough to go back and flesh them out. This is
the point at which I can begin to see the final product and really have fun
layering in all kinds of interesting details. The part I like the least is any
day when I’m stuck and the words just won’t come. Those days are agony.
• One thing
(object, not people) you can’t live without?
My computer - a MacAir. I take it everywhere.
• One unusual
item in/on/around your workspace?
Only one? Okay, I guess I’ll choose the dead body that is on
top of my bookshelf. Really. It’s made of rubber and is about five inches long.
It has a hole in the chest that I use to hold up my feather pen.

Louisiana before settling in Northeast Florida with her husband, two children,
and a Shetland Sheepdog named Sparky. A Romance Writers of America Golden
